ARMIDALE BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION INC

Basketball in Armidale is played indoors at The Den, located in the grounds of Armidale Secondary College in Butler St. There is a preseason competition during term 1, a main Winter Trophy Competition during terms 2 & 3, and a social competition during term 4. Each term runs for approximately 8 weeks.

 Forms are available early school terms 1, 2 & 4 from Armidale   Intersport, Armidale Sportspower, our website or  Facebook page or by contacting the Association.

 Aussie Hoops is for players in Kinder-yr 2 and is held on Sunday mornings from 10-11am. It involves skills, drills and fun basketball activities. Fees are charged per term. New $105 (with kit), Returning $70. Registration is online at http://www.aussiehoops.basketball.

 

Minibasketball is for players in years 3-6. Teams are made up of both boys and girls.

Games for players are held on a Monday (generally 4pm for yrs 3/4, 5pm for players in yrs 5/6) while training for yrs 3-6 is on Sundays at 10-11am. Registration is via the Armidale Basketball website.

 

Senior Program—For adults and more experienced or senior high school players we have:

Men’s A or B grade on Monday or 

Women’s  on Wednesday

 

Junior Program for High School Players up to year 10, Girls or Boys teams (Teams are sometimes mixed in Summer seasons due to numbers)

Tuesdays– from approx 4.00pm to 8.00pm finish.

Years 7 & 8 generally from 4.00pm        Years 9 & 10 generally from 5.30pm

 

Representative Programs —When players and supporters are available, Armidale Lions participate in the North Eastern Junior League (NEJL/NJL) on a team basis or Northern Inland Basketball League (NIBL) for individuals. These are regional competitions.

 

These programs involve training sessions and weekend competition rounds. There are extra costs involved  which are determined each year.

 

Costs

All players (except those who register via Aussie Hoops) pay an annual Membership/Registration Fee plus a per- person game fee (each term). AKVs welcomed.

 

 Annual Membership for 2025 for NSW & Armidale affiliations 

·        Juniors turning 7 or less $50

·        Juniors turning 8-11 $65.50

·        Juniors/seniors turning 12 or more in current year $105.00

 

 

Game Fees for 2026

·         Miniball $55 per term  or $8 per game

·        Junior Tuesday Competition $55 per term or $8 per game

·        Senior Monday Competition $65 per term or $10 per game

·        Women on Wednesday $50 per term or $8 per week

 

Aussie Hoops for 2026 (on a term by term basis only which includes membership)

·        New players (includes pack) $105 

·        Returning players $70
